My Journey in Game Development as a Hoosier
Hi! I’m Andrew Jorgensen—game designer, storyteller, and proud Hoosier with a passion for immersive worlds and a faith that fuels my every project. My walk with Christ is at the heart of what I create—it inspires me to build experiences that don’t just entertain, but encourage, connect, and awaken purpose in players.
🎓 In 2025, I proudly graduated from Indiana University Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design & Development from the Luddy School of Informatics. I finished with top marks and a final cumulative GPA of 3.514—a milestone that reflects years of growth, grit, and God’s grace.

From conference floors to 48-hour sprints, I’ve thrown myself into opportunities that stretch my creativity and sharpen my design instincts:
GDC 2024 & 2025 – Engaged with leading minds in the industry, expanding my network and staying on the pulse of innovation as I prepare for post-grad employment.
Global Game Jam @ IUI (2023 & 2024) – Built working game prototypes in Unity within 48 hours, flexing rapid design and programming skills.
(GGJ 2025 took a raincheck due to illness—but I came back stronger and more inspired than ever!)
🧪 Featured Projects
🃏 Golems & Storms™ – A competitive card-drafting game I created as my capstone project, focused on strategic deck-building and golem warfare.
⏳ Time Guardians™ – Designed a detailed Unreal Engine level featuring a futuristic HQ, from Time Cell Detention Areas to Timeline Teleportation Matrices. Original logo and animated loading screen included!
🌿 SporeWood – A polished team-built prototype showcased at the Capstone Fair, where I led UI/Level Design and boosted booth engagement by 20%.
🎮 SpellSling Arena – Crafted modular levels and optimized enemy AI to increase responsiveness and fun factor.
🎙️ Dawn of the Garmír™ – My passion project: an original Skyrim-inspired audio drama with immersive voice acting, layered soundscapes, and a deep narrative arc.
📜 The 12 Hands RPG System – A fully original tabletop system featuring dynamic turn-based combat and flexible character progression.
🧠 Gauntlet of Legends (MTG Playstyle) – A custom Magic: The Gathering experience with commander-style mechanics and an innovative lieutenant system.

Game jams have been my forge—intense, fast, and formative. They’ve taught me to adapt on the fly, collaborate under pressure, and translate wild ideas into real, playable magic.
🧙 Inspiration & Play
When I’m not making games, I’m playing them—especially Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. These worlds fuel my imagination, deepen my understanding of systems design, and remind me why storytelling matters.

I’ve spent my college years growing through community, internships, and development milestones. Now I’m stepping into the industry with a sharpened skillset, a Christ-centered calling, and a heart to build games that matter.
