🙌 About Me
My Journey in Game Development as a Hoosier
Hi! I’m Andrew Jorgensen—game designer, storyteller, and proud Hoosier with a passion for immersive worlds and a faith that shapes every project I pursue. My Christian faith fuels my creativity, anchors my purpose, and compels me to build experiences that do more than entertain—they ignite hope, foster connection, and tell stories that leave a mark.
🎮 Industry Experience & Events
I’ve been blessed to contribute to and engage with the industry through events that have expanded my horizons and refined my craft:
GDC 2024 – Absorbed cutting-edge insights, connected with professionals, and gleaned wisdom from industry leaders.
Global Game Jam @ IUI (2023 & 2024) – Collaborated, innovated, and delivered fully playable prototypes under 48-hour deadlines.
Though illness kept me from GGJ 2025, I’ve since bounced back for GDC 2025 with renewed passion, fresh ideas, and a sharpened portfolio ready to shine.
🧪 Featured Projects
🎴 Golems & Storms™ – Designed and developed this competitive card-drafting game as my capstone project, empowering players to command Golem legions and outwit rivals in PvP skirmishes.
🎙️ Dawn of the Garmír™ – Scripted, directed, and voiced an original audio drama inspired by Skyrim, expanding Elder Scrolls lore with rich character arcs and epic soundscapes.
🌿 SporeWood – Delivered a client-ready game from concept to finish, collaborating across disciplines and honing project management and execution skills.
🛠️ Game Jam Impact
Game jams have been my crucible for growth. Each event has challenged me to adapt, prototype, and problem-solve on the fly—transforming ideas into gameplay under pressure. These experiences have strengthened my creativity and expanded my toolkit with every sprint.
🧙 Inspiration & Play
When I’m not developing, I’m immersing myself in worlds like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, where I craft stories, strategize, and discover new perspectives. These games continually inspire, refresh, and fuel my passion for narrative and systems design.
🤝 Looking Ahead
Networking, interning, and community-building have all been cornerstones of my journey. I’ve built relationships, gathered experience, and curated a portfolio that reflects not just my skills—but my calling. I don’t just want to work in games—I want to transform lives through them.
“With creativity guided by Christ, I aim to build worlds where players don’t just play—they feel, learn, and believe.”
